I contributed titles and main title screen treatment for Chris Mulhern's new film, The Philadelphia Experiment. The PX was a military program reportedly carried out in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard around October of 1943. It is alleged that naval destroyer USS Eldridge was rendered invisible, allowing it to be hidden from enemy devices. In this version of "The Philadelphia Experiment", we travel back to 1997, a time when skateboarding was at its very best in Philadelphia. The past meets present when the old Hi-8 camera is pointed at a generation of HD video skaters. Really cool concept from Chris, glad I was able to contribute to a truly creative project like this.
This was a really fun collaboration between Corpse Corps Boards of NYC and Radlands Clothing of Philadelphia. Both companies share a love for primitive skateboarding and all things heavy, so the collaboration was a natural joining of camps. DOOM WOOD is a coffin shaped board reminiscent of 80's pool shapes and feature's the sketchbook style drawings of Jordan Walzack (Corpse Corps) and myself. I also created the doom wood insignia/logo lock up. There's still a few boards left, you can purchase one at www.shop.radlandsclothing.com/product/doom-wood
What is ritual and what does it mean in society today? Some use ritual in praise of a deity, others have sought to liberate consciousness and transcend the listener/performer/participant to a clearer state of mind. Today, forms of ritual can noticed in the benign and obscure, in areas of the unconscious even. The 24 page zine arranges a series of images and notes on subjects that inform, inspire and appear to be loosly tied to some form of ritual. These are unpublished pieces for a festival that celebrates Ritual in music.
Fleatherfox is the lovechild of jewelery designer and stylist Linda Smyth. Now based in NYC, Fleatherfox has launched a new website & collection and needed a refresh on the branding and overall direction. Deliverables included a new logo and biz card, promo mailers and look book. More stuff to come from this project as the year progresses.
An assortment of posters, web ads, design pitches and unpublished self-initiated works (the 2 LPs) 2012 was a fun year, too much to list here, but the new portfolio site is underway and should see the light of day mid 2013. Thanks for looking.
Some randoms from the 2012 year for Traffic. Unfortunately the 'Detour' bearings and hardware are not in production and are on hold indefinitely. Hopefully They'll see the day of light. But I really enjoyed this Icon Series last year.
Wanted to post this, later rather than never. A really nice feature, Traffic Skateboards TRAJECTORY over at The Berrics. I was interviewed for Episode 2 just to bring viewers in on a little of the current Traffic line and wax poetic on how I used to make VHS mixtapes with these legends. Much love and respect. I did the titles for this Trajectory episode as well. Cheers to Chris Mulhern for inviting me to do them. CHECK THE VIDEO OUT HERE
